Writing can be used to develop ideas and formulate them, this is the purpose behind evergreen notes.

When writing is used as the end goal, a lot of other activites can be more directed. This means if I’m reading something I find interesting but don’t have an immediately related project idea, I can at least always have the project of writing as a guide for engaging with that interesting reading.
